Who We Are
River Mill Coffee Company is a place of community. A place to call your own…for you to find your favorite drink, a quiet place to work, relax, or just be silent. Owners, Heather Veik and Rachael Barlow, want to know all about YOUR story. Beyond that, we are simply here to be a joyful part of your day and to welcome you to make RMCC a second home. We hope you find respite here.
We are a specialty coffee and tea shop. We pride ourselves on premium beverages, simple quality ingredients, and true flavor (preservatives and artificial flavors- we’d rather not!). Our coffee is roasted by Jim Bean Coffee in O’Neill, Nebraska….not just a business partner, but a friend. We use milk from Burbach Dairy out of Hartington, Nebraska. To flavor our delicious drinks, we offer some house made syrups. Please ask about our house made vanilla, lavender, simple syrup, and our unique seasonal flavors. River Mill also carries a large variety of other flavors in traditional syrups. River Mill uses Hugo Tea, which we believe is the most superb tea on earth. We currently offer Earl Grey, Oolong, Green, and Tisane (Herbal) teas and a fun tea service experience.
River Mill has unique stories in almost every corner of our shop. The oak used in all the furniture came from a farm belonging to some of Heather’s closest family. An oak tree was logged, milled, dried in the corn drier, and the furniture was handmade by the owners. The tree that was used had approximately 150 rings. The history of the land and trees will soon be posted in the shop for all those who’d like to read it. The aesthetics of River Mill aimed to combine a mixture of industrial, urban, and a special touch of rural comfort. The owners and their husbands created and designed the entire space. Rachael, specifically, has a unique eye that brought the design together beautifully. We hope to fill River Mill with little pieces that peak interest and curiosity. River Mill offers a space that can be used for groups, clubs, meetings, or for study sessions. Ask us about booking business meetings.
